Julie Bagby is an award-winning artist whose talents span a wide variety of genres from abstract to hard-edge contemporary and the beauty of nature. Julie works with only discarded paints, just old paint from people’s garages. Painting hardedge, oceanscapes, trees, and abstract art.
"There is nothing more thrilling to me than putting paint on canvas! Being a self-taught artist, I am unencumbered by rules of any kind. I have fun with and love the Mid-Century Modern vibe of Hard Edge pieces. The truly expressive, nonrepresentational abstract paintings seem to bubble up out of nowhere. As I am an intuitive painter, these pieces have no direction or
forethought except to react to what has been put down on the canvas. It’s a little like meditation with liquid color.
My third style stems from my love of trees. I am drawn to trees in general, but specifically to bare trees because of their architectural qualities. More recently, I have been particularly inspired by the wonderful pines as well as the vast scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I have a ridiculous amount of fun painting, and it is my sincere wish to share that joy with my collectors."
